COSMØ HOUSE: A DIFFERENT TAKE ON INDUSTRIAL BELGRADE

A Belgrade commercial interior takes the American roadside stop as a point of departure, then filters it through an industrial shell, photography and planting.

COSMØ House begins with the idea of a brief pause, somewhere between arrival and moving on. The American roadside stop is a reference point rather than a piece of set design. Instead of leaning on retro cues, the interior works with an anthracite ceiling, metal, rougher surfaces and an open plan that retains something of its industrial setting.

Soft green and terracotta shift the mood away from the expected coldness. Photographs by Stefan Miloš, taken across different journeys, occupy the walls without asking to become the subject of the room. They read more like fragments of other places that have simply found their way into the interior.

Planting changes the rhythm again. A tree at the centre, shrubs and layers of greenery soften the weight of the darker surfaces and create a more informal relationship between inside and out.

The bar remains restrained, with an integrated mirror extending sightlines through the space. Elsewhere, the interior is quiet enough to change through the day, shaped by light, reflection, photography and planting rather than by additional decorative layers.

COSMØ House is at its most interesting when it resists easy categorisation. Industrial structure, urban greenery and personal photography coexist without being pressed into a single, recognisable style.
